DOMINICAN PREACHER

Deeply rooted in solid ground of God’s enlivening Word,

nurtured by prayer and contemplation, study, community,

listening and responding to the Word.

PREACHER, Truth Bearer, Tireless Torch,

lighting the weary world starved for hope and meaning,

dispelling myths, unmasking idols of our day with the Light of Truth

moved to compassion by the evils and misfortunes of our time.

PREACHER, Daring Dreamer,

of a world winnowed of falsehood, freed from violence and war,

transformed by God’s healing touch, bringing new life into dark places,

lighting the world with hope.

PREACHER, standing tall,

sent to the farthest reaches, across culture, class and creed,

searching, probing with great vigor, faithfully reflecting

the goodness, mercy and splendor of our God.
